Reconditioning of used drums

S.C. ARTEGO S.A. reconditions worn drums using a wide range of materials specially designed to withstand different working environments:
» for the food industry;
» resistant to oils and fats;
» resistant to high temperatures;
» in harsh muddy conditions.
Reconditioning begins by removing the worn rubber layer using a lathe and hot vulcanizing a new rubber layer. The thickness of the rubber layer ranges between 10 and 25 mm.

The technical characteristics of the wear layer are:
» tensile strength, minimum 140 kgf/cm²;
» elongation at break, minimum 400%;
» hardness, 60 ± 5 Shore A;
» abrasion resistance, maximum 250 mm³;

The adhesion between rubber and metal is at least 15 kgf/cm.

For the reconditioning of drive and idle drums, the direction of rotation of the drum must be considered when joining the plates. In the case of drums used in underground environments, antistatic and flame-retardant rubber is used to meet all the safety standards required by mining regulations.

We recondition drums with the following dimensions:
» 245…1600 mm diameter;
» 600…6000 mm length.
